Paper Submission Instructions
Submission Instructions
Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality full papers representing original results. Submissions are limited to six pages in double-column IEEE format, including figures, tables, and references. The paper review process will be double-blind to ensure fairness and impartiality. The template for the format can be downloaded from this link.Â
The conference will also accept short papers and demo papers (four pages including references in the same format and with the same deadline). It is also a double-blind review process.
The CMT online submission site is at https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/AVSS2025/.Â
All accepted papers presented in AVSS 2024 will be published in the conference proceedings that will be also available in the IEEE Xplore digital library.
Review Guildelines
AVSS 2025 follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors' and reviewers' identities remain anonymous. All review-related discussions should be conducted through the designated system, and reviewers must not attempt to identify authors or discuss submissions with others.
Review Criteria
Reviewers should evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:
Originality – Novelty and significance of the contribution compared to existing work.
Technical Quality – Soundness of methodology, experimental design, and validity of results.
Clarity – Organization, writing quality, and effectiveness in communicating ideas.
Relevance – Alignment with AVSS 2025 topics and objectives.
Impact – Potential influence on future research or practical applications.
Double-Blind Review and Anonymity
All papers must comply with double-blind review standards:
Author names, affiliations, and any identifiable information must not appear in the manuscript.
Self-citations should use "previous work" instead of "our work" or "my work."
Acknowledgments and supplementary materials must not contain identifiable information, such as funding sources or collaborators.
If a reviewer identifies a breach of anonymity, they should notify the Program Chairs.
Conflict of Interest (COI)
Reviewers must check for potential conflicts of interest, including:
Affiliation with the same institution as the authors or planning to join that institution.
Co-authored papers or collaborations with the authors within the past three years.
Any personal or professional relationship that may compromise objectivity.
If a conflict exists, the reviewer must inform the Program Chairs immediately.
Supplementary Materials
Reviewers may consider supplementary materials but are not required to evaluate them in detail. These may include:
Videos demonstrating results or system performance.
Additional experimental results, images, or technical analysis.
Anonymous related submissions or technical appendices.
If supplementary materials significantly impact the paper’s evaluation, reviewers should mention this in their comments.
Dual Submission & Plagiarism
AVSS 2025 strictly prohibits dual submissions and plagiarism, including:
Submissions must not be under review or previously published in a substantially similar form.
If content overlaps with another work, it must be anonymously cited and included as an anonymized supplementary document.
Technical reports (e.g., arXiv) are not considered formal publications but must still be properly anonymized in citations.
If plagiarism or duplicate submission is suspected, reviewers should report it to the Program Chairs immediately.
Fairness and Ethical Guidelines
Maintain objectivity and fairness – Avoid bias based on authors’ nationality, institution, or language proficiency.
Provide constructive feedback – Whether recommending acceptance or rejection, reviews should include detailed comments.
Ensure confidentiality – Reviewers must not use unpublished content for personal research or disclose review details.
The AVSS 2025 review process aims to uphold the highest standards of fairness, professionalism, and academic integrity, ensuring a rigorous and unbiased evaluation of all submissions.
